The VN17 tracked infantry fighting vehicle’s main armament includes a 30mm automatic cannon, a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, and two HJ-12 anti-tank missile launchers mounted on either side of the turret. The missile has an effective range of 2500 meters against ground targets and 4000 meters against aerial targets. An advanced electrically powered unmanned turret ensures maximum safety for the personnel. The VN17 is also equipped with an image-stabilized fire control system with automatic tracking.
The VN17 is powered by a four-stroke, water-cooled, turbocharged diesel engine producing 883 horsepower. Its power-to-weight ratio is 21 kW/ton, and its maximum road speed is 70 km/h. The hydraulic-mechanical transmission has six forward gears and two reverse gears. A high-strength torsion bar suspension with elastic shock absorbers ensures good mobility and comfort during combat operations.
The VN17’s armor provides all-around protection against small arms fire and artillery shell fragments. The turret and hull offer the same level of protection, upgradable to NATO STANAG Level 6. A mine protection module can be installed on the underside of the chassis, capable of withstanding the impact of a 6-8 kg TNT equivalent explosion.
The integrated information management system on the VN17 tracked infantry fighting vehicle performs internal and external information acquisition, processing, display, and command tasks.
