AR3 Multiple Rocket Launcher

The AR-3 rocket artillery system is a heavy, long-range multiple rocket launcher system developed in China. It features a modular design, the ability to launch both rockets and missiles from the same launcher, and compatibility with various rocket calibers. Guided by the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, it can achieve precision strikes within 15 meters against point targets within a 150-kilometer radius. Its 750mm rockets have a range of up to 600 kilometers, approaching the range of surface-to-surface missiles, but at only one-third the cost. The AR-3 has a combat weight of 45 tons, a top speed of 60 kilometers per hour, and can operate in extreme environments ranging from -22°C to 55°C. It boasts a high degree of automation, requiring only three operators. This system effectively enhances the army’s long-range precision strike capabilities and can launch TL-7B anti-ship missiles.

Utilizing an 8×8 off-road truck chassis, it possesses high mobility and environmental adaptability. The system can launch 370mm and 300mm unguided rockets, as well as 750mm guided rockets, with maximum ranges of 220 kilometers and 500 kilometers respectively. It is also compatible with the Fire Dragon 480 tactical missile (range 290 kilometers). The modular design supports multiple missile types for launch from the same launcher, and the box-type launcher reduces reloading time.
