SH1 122mm self-propelled howitzer

Product Description

Employing a 155mm/52-caliber barrel manufactured by Norinco, it supports domestically produced ammunition systems, including standard base-bleed projectiles and rocket-assisted projectiles, while also being compatible with NATO ammunition standards. The gun crew is equipped with a ballistic computer and a digital fire control system, enabling automated aiming and multi-target engagement capabilities. The sustained rate of fire reaches 6 rounds per minute, with a burst rate of fire increasing to 3 rounds per 15 seconds. When firing base-bleed rocket-assisted projectiles, its maximum range extends to 50 kilometers. The protection system consists of an armored driver’s compartment and a fragmentation liner, capable of withstanding direct hits from 7.62mm armor-piercing rounds and fragmentation damage from 152mm artillery shells. The auxiliary weapon system includes a QJC88 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun with 500 rounds of ammunition, used to engage low-altitude threats and lightly armored ground targets.

Chassis and Mobility

This weapon system is based on a 6×6 wheeled high-mobility off-road chassis, weighing 22 tons. It employs a full-time four-wheel drive system and a central tire inflation/deflation device, enabling it to cross 1.2-meter vertical obstacles and 0.6-meter trenches. The chassis integrates four-wheel steering technology, reducing the minimum turning radius by 30% compared to traditional models, adapting to the mobility requirements of complex terrain.

The power unit is equipped with a high-power diesel engine, paired with an automatic transmission to achieve a top speed of 90 km/h on roads. The operational transition time (marching to combat status) is controlled within 3 minutes. The hydraulic suspension system supports stability compensation during artillery firing, effectively reducing the impact of recoil on the chassis structure.
